Singtrix Karaoke: Even you can sound like a decent singer

The beauty of karaoke isn’t just in a person’s ability to belt out a Kenny Loggins’ song. We partake because it’s an enjoyable group experience—a way for friends and family to bond over the power of music. But finding a good karaoke spot is hard, and once you do, nobody wants to wait around 45 minutes before exercising the old pipes.

That’s why the Singtrix karaoke machine is so darn fun. Not only can you belt out your favorite Cher song without a rowdy crowd, it actually makes you sound like a decent singer. It’s never been easier to achieve the autotune notoriety of T-Pain.

Singtrix sent us a unit, and, as you can imagine, things got out of hand pretty quick. We’ve seen all sorts of gadgets pass through our office, from mobile phones to high-end cars. But nothing has been quite as enjoyable as what Singtrix offered. It’ll turn even the shyest shower singers into nightclub crooners in no time.

In addition to 350 professional vocal presets, the Singtrix’s control console lets users control the level of voice enhancement. There are three different levels, which you can easily adjust depending on your skill level: Enhanced, which offers a lot of pitch correction; semi-pro, which offers some pitch correction, and pro, which offers no pitch correction at all, but still has the cool voice effects.

Our unit came with a 40-Watt 2.1 stereo speaker with a subwoofer, a mic and mic stand, and the voice-enhancing Studio Effect Console. All you need to complete the karaoke combination is an iOS or Android smartphone, which you simply hook right up to the console. The plug-and-play approach is super easy to use, and means anyone with a library full of their favorite Hanson songs can get the party started.

Singtrix is far from a device you need. But it’s a device you’ll get a surprising amount of fun out of. If you’re hosting an awkward office party, or just like having a monthly karaoke tournament, the Singtrix is pretty great. You’ll be able to pick one up for $349.

Mad Max meets Mario Kart is just bloody brilliant

How is this for a clever mash-up?  sundbergkr ‘s Mario Kart: Fury Road parody trailer mashes up the worlds of Mad Max and Mario Kart to epic results in this wonderful parody of the film’s trailer. What’s really special about this mash-up is that it isn’t entirely overdone. The Mario references are brief, subtle, and appear just long enough for you to appreciate them before waiting eagerly for the next one. Without a doubt the giant Chomp is the most laugh out loud moment, but the creators also slip in some perfectly timed and inappropriate voice clips during the violent action. I still haven’t seen Mad Max: Fury Road , due it not coming out in Japan until June 20, but I had purposely avoided the trailers to not get any spoilers. Now, thanks to Mario, June 20 can’t come fast enough! Source : Via : Destructoid from TechnoBuffalo http://ift.tt/1AvRv58

Exec behind “Next Big Thing” campaign has departed Samsung

Samsung Mobile CMO, Todd Pendleton, has reportedly departed the company, according to CNET . Pendleton is credited with creating Samsung’s famous “Next Big Thing” campaign, which took aim at the company’s rivals while highlighting the benefits of its own mobile lineup. The ads were smart, terse, and ultimately helped raise the awareness of Samsung’s brand as a major smartphone maker here in the U.S. It’s unclear why Pendleton left, but it’s being reported that Samsung executives became dissatisfied with the campaign’s recent success, even going so far as auditing the mobile division’s Dallas headquarters. It seems you can only use the Next Big Thing tagline so many times; the commercials have taken a decidedly different turn over the past few months, focusing on design, functionality and features rather than bashing Samsung competitors. The timing, I suppose, seems appropriate given that Samsung has just unveiled two new flagships, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Samsung is clearly ...

Star Wars: Battlefront will not have classes

See full gallery on TechnoBuffalo When it comes time to pick your gear and weaponry in DICE’s upcoming relaunch of  Star Wars: Battlefront , you won’t be sifting through classes or class-specific stuff. That’s because the new  Battlefront has no class. I don’t mean that in a belch during dinner at a fancy restaurant kind of way, either. I mean you won’t be picking stuff like Engineer, Assault or Support before you roll onto the battlefield. In an interview with OXM , as summed up by the magazine’s sister site  Games Radar , Design Director Niklas Fegraeus indicated that classes are out. You’ll be able to pick and choose between unlocked weapons and gear freely and build to your own style. Furthermore, Fegraeus also indicated that  Battlefront will not feature the five-person squad feature that  Battlefield  offers. Instead, players will run as partners, a group of two system that lets players stick together, appear on one another’s HUDs and spawn besi...
