How to get Android Wear to work with iOS

Official Android Wear support for iOS could be right around the corner, but if you’re impatient like us, you can actually get a workaround up and running right now. No jailbreak is required, though it’s worth noting that this method is very particular, which means its functionality is somewhat limited. Even still, if you’re unhappy with Apple’s own smartwatch offering, this could be a good way to get yourself acquainted with the Android Wear platform.

You’ll need three things to make this work: an Android Wear device, an Android device and an iPhone. I know what you’re thinking, “Doesn’t an Android device defeat the purpose of using Android Wear with iOS?” You actually only need an Android phone for one step, so you’ll be able to ditch it once you’re up and running. Setting everything up is very straight forward after that—you should be good to go in about 10 minutes.

The first thing you need to do is download Wear Connect for iOS on your Android device. This app uses BLE Utility available through iOS, and allows users to manage things like notifications, control music playback, and even check an iOS device’s battery level. Once Wear Connect is installed, open it on your Android Wear device, and then turn on the iOS service.

Once those steps are completed, you’ll need to download the BLE Utility on your iPhone, which is available in the App Store. This will give you access to connect to external peripherals. Upon initial setup, you’ll be required to enter in a pin code found on your Android Wear device to pair with your iPhone, but once this is done, you won’t have to enter one ever again.

After you do that, you should start to see iOS notifications show up on your Android Wear device. We’ve been using this workaround for a few days now, and so far it seems to work quite well. You’ll be able to receive notifications for iMessage, email, Snapchat, etc., so you should be covered.

Keep in mind that this isn’t an official release by Apple or Google, so it could break at anytime. But it’s a neat way to get an Android Wear device to play nice with an iPhone. We’re expecting official support to be announced at Google I/O at the end of May anyway, but in case that day never comes, you can see what it’s like using the two opposing platforms in the video above.

Gears of War remaster screenshots from footage leak

See full gallery on TechnoBuffalo The only thing Black Tusk and Microsoft have left to do on the Gears of War remaster is actually announce it. We’ve seen it hinted at, denied, and rated. Now we have some footage accidentally leaked onto the Xbox DVR site, likely by a developer who forgot to disable the automatic upload. This isn’t gameplay footage per se – the enemy is standing still in the clips while the player attacks them. It’s likely test footage for some of the gore physics or something like that. But it’s definitely footage taken in-game.The two images above were pulled from a NeoGAF thread on the leak comparing the screenshot of the new clips to one from the original Gears. Microsoft is likely scrambling to take the footage down, but currently the thread, linked to in the source for this story, has links to the videos. If you decide to click through and watch the clips, it’s important to note that they were filmed using the Xbox Game DVR and were filmed three months ago, before t…

ornitorrinco
¿Alguna vez has visto un ornitorrinco? Es probablemente el animal más extraño que jamás encuentres. Es un mamífero de sangre caliente, sin embargo, pone huevos. Está cubierto con la piel, pero se divierte un pico de pato. Y sus pies palmeados también parecen má…

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt launch trailer take 2 – Go Your Own Way

You can call it another lonely day. Haven’t we been here once before? CD Projekt RED believes that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is far too amazing for just one launch trailer, so it has decided to create yet another just to drive home the fact that you need to play this game. The new “Go Your Way” launch trailer features more in-engine graphics instead of impressive pre-rendered CG, and its focus this time around is not our big, bad hero Geralt but rather the Princess Ciri. Don’t be fooled by her puppy dog eyes and adorable freckles. This girl will kill you in a flash! The trailer tells her tale of how she wandered from home, and tells of how Geralt sets out to find her.The relationship between these two is not the only star of the trailer either. Geralt’s fantasy world is full of real life horrors that extend beyond mere monsters. Slaughter, torture, executions, dangerous seductions. The trailer bares all that you will find in this horrible yet beautiful place, giving you a taste of the s…
