Konami isn’t going to be invited to any birthday parties these days, and Santa has to find an extra large tree to char. Silent Hills has been canceled. Its incredibly popular demo P.T. has been scrubbed from history. Konami even attempted to erase Hideo Kojima’s name from the box of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, but fans made a lot of noise forcing it to be pasted back on.
The Director/Producer/Writer/Game Designer might be in trouble when it comes to getting credit for his own game, but at least he will not be totally forgotten thanks to his name now appearing in everyone’s favorite glitch game, Goat Simulator. Indie team Coffee Stain Studios added Hideo Kojima, Kojima Productions, and “Silent Hills P.T. …Please Bring it Back” to the ”extra special thanks” category with a cheeky little message to accompany it.
“We heard that Hideo Kojima was removed from the credits for Metal Gear Solid 5 so we added him to the credits for Goat Simulator. You’re always welcome to work with us Kojima!”
While I sincerely doubt that Kojima is the innocent victim that people are portraying him as in this situation, it’s still nice to see that his name reverberates within the gaming community. Especially in spite of his questionable future in game development. Maybe he could draw himself into Goat Simulator the same way he did for Ground Zeroes!
