Gears of War remaster screenshots from footage leak

See full gallery on TechnoBuffalo

The only thing Black Tusk and Microsoft have left to do on the Gears of War remaster is actually announce it. We’ve seen it hinted at, denied, and rated.

Now we have some footage accidentally leaked onto the Xbox DVR site, likely by a developer who forgot to disable the automatic upload.

This isn’t gameplay footage per se – the enemy is standing still in the clips while the player attacks them. It’s likely test footage for some of the gore physics or something like that. But it’s definitely footage taken in-game.

The two images above were pulled from a NeoGAF thread on the leak comparing the screenshot of the new clips to one from the original Gears. Microsoft is likely scrambling to take the footage down, but currently the thread, linked to in the source for this story, has links to the videos.

If you decide to click through and watch the clips, it’s important to note that they were filmed using the Xbox Game DVR and were filmed three months ago, before the service was updated to record at 60 fps. The graphics shown may also be of an earlier build and not indicative of the final product. They are, more than anything, a simple confirmation that the game is in the works.

We’ll likely see the first official acknowledgment of Gears of War Ultiamte next month at E3.

Mad Max meets Mario Kart is just bloody brilliant

How is this for a clever mash-up?  sundbergkr ‘s Mario Kart: Fury Road parody trailer mashes up the worlds of Mad Max and Mario Kart to epic results in this wonderful parody of the film’s trailer. What’s really special about this mash-up is that it isn’t entirely overdone. The Mario references are brief, subtle, and appear just long enough for you to appreciate them before waiting eagerly for the next one. Without a doubt the giant Chomp is the most laugh out loud moment, but the creators also slip in some perfectly timed and inappropriate voice clips during the violent action. I still haven’t seen Mad Max: Fury Road , due it not coming out in Japan until June 20, but I had purposely avoided the trailers to not get any spoilers. Now, thanks to Mario, June 20 can’t come fast enough! Source : Via : Destructoid from TechnoBuffalo http://ift.tt/1AvRv58

Exec behind “Next Big Thing” campaign has departed Samsung

Samsung Mobile CMO, Todd Pendleton, has reportedly departed the company, according to CNET . Pendleton is credited with creating Samsung’s famous “Next Big Thing” campaign, which took aim at the company’s rivals while highlighting the benefits of its own mobile lineup. The ads were smart, terse, and ultimately helped raise the awareness of Samsung’s brand as a major smartphone maker here in the U.S. It’s unclear why Pendleton left, but it’s being reported that Samsung executives became dissatisfied with the campaign’s recent success, even going so far as auditing the mobile division’s Dallas headquarters. It seems you can only use the Next Big Thing tagline so many times; the commercials have taken a decidedly different turn over the past few months, focusing on design, functionality and features rather than bashing Samsung competitors. The timing, I suppose, seems appropriate given that Samsung has just unveiled two new flagships, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Samsung is clearly ...

Star Wars: Battlefront will not have classes

See full gallery on TechnoBuffalo When it comes time to pick your gear and weaponry in DICE’s upcoming relaunch of  Star Wars: Battlefront , you won’t be sifting through classes or class-specific stuff. That’s because the new  Battlefront has no class. I don’t mean that in a belch during dinner at a fancy restaurant kind of way, either. I mean you won’t be picking stuff like Engineer, Assault or Support before you roll onto the battlefield. In an interview with OXM , as summed up by the magazine’s sister site  Games Radar , Design Director Niklas Fegraeus indicated that classes are out. You’ll be able to pick and choose between unlocked weapons and gear freely and build to your own style. Furthermore, Fegraeus also indicated that  Battlefront will not feature the five-person squad feature that  Battlefield  offers. Instead, players will run as partners, a group of two system that lets players stick together, appear on one another’s HUDs and spawn besi...
