Not impressed by the Galaxy S6 and its sleek metal design? Samsung has an answer with the rugged and unrefined Galaxy S6 Active. Images of the rumored handset leaked out this week, revealing the rumored rugged smartphone.
A pair of photos published by GSMArena show the Galaxy S6 Active from the front and back. It looks pretty similar to Samsung’s earlier “Active” handsets, sporting three physical buttons and a heavily armored rear panel. It’s not necessarily ugly, but it can’t compete with the flagship Galaxy S6 in the looks department.
The Galaxy S6 Active may also feature a rather large 3,500mAh battery and a 5.2-inch Quad HD display. The device is apparently being referred to internally as Zenzero, which could be a reference to the “Project Zero” code name used for the Galaxy S6.
Finally, the new smartphone recently passed through the FCC, revealing what appears to be an AT&T variant with the model number SM-G890A, which matches right up with the AT&T logo on the photo above. We still don’t know what Samsung will actually unveil the device, but it seems like the perfect phone to ship in time for summer.
