When Yoshi’s Woolly World hits the Wii U, it will include support for both the adorable Yarn Yoshi amiibo you see pictured in the gallery above as well as standard Yoshi amiibo. That much we’ve known for a while now.
While the game doesn’t have a release date yet for the Americas, it’s set to launch on June 26 in Europe and June 25 in Australia. The packaging for the Australian version of Yoshi’s Woolly World has leaked, appearing online thanks to the folks at Vooks. Here it is.
Now, the box clearly indicates the compatible amiibo. We have Yarn Yoshi and Yoshi, which we knew about. Then, below that, the listing reads “Mario, Luigi, Peach and more” and then “Unlock Yoshi designs based on the character (read only).”
We assume this means that players who tap, at the very least, a Mario, Luigi or Peach amiibo to their system’s GamePad will have access to Mario, Luigi or Peach themed Yoshi designs. That’s both awesome and hilarious to think about, isn’t it?
Yoshi’s Woolly World is exclusive to the Wii U. Unlike the similarly themed Kirby’s Epic Yarn, this new adventure for Yoshi will supposedly pack both tough and easy modes. That should give more veteran players a way to challenge themselves amidst the charming aesthetic while the game still stays welcoming to newcomers and youngsters.
