Ratchet & Clank film delayed into 2016, stars Sylvester Stallone

Ratchet & Clank

Anybody think this Ratchet & Clank film can go the distance and actually be released? Sony still says so. News has been mum ever since it was first announced two years ago, but with the snap of a finger, we not only have an April 29, 2016 release date; we also have a star studded cast confirmation!

Ratchet & Clank will star none other than John Rambo himself, Sylvester Stallone, playing the role of Victor Von Ion, “Chairman Drek’s villainous lieutenant.” Joining him is a line-up of fan favorite actors including:

  • Paul Giamatti as Chairman Drek
  • John Goodman as Ratchet’s mechanic mentor Grimroth
  • Bella Thorne as Galactic Ranger Cora
  • Rosario Dawson as Galactic Ranger support team member Elaris

Not bad choices at all. And talk about a lucky break! Perhaps the best and happiest additions to this big name cast are the original voice actors of the games’ three principal characters. James Arnold Taylor will reprise his role as Ratchet, David Kaye will reprise his role as Clank, and Jim Ward will reprise as the one and only Captain Quark. All three get top billing in their biggest gig ever, a genuine Hollywood produced film.

I’d say it was a pleasant surprise for these three that a decade old video game job landed them something this big. Sony also teased other returning voice actors as cameos and told “fanboys” to keep open ears while watching the film.

While you might have to wait a bit longer than expected, rest assured we’re using the time wisely to further polish the game to a spit-shine level, with dazzling shader response, awe-inspiring effects, velvety smooth animations, and spectacular new gameplay segments. Really, we can’t wait to show it to you.

Sony also confirmed that Insomniac is working on a “re-imagination” of the original Ratchet & Clank game, and it will be released for the PlayStation 4 in Spring 2016.

I’m not entirely sure. Is Ratchet & Clank old enough to be nostalgic yet, because this news is starting to make me feel that way. Even when put next to Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank is definitely the peak of Insomniac’s long career. I liked the first four games on the PlayStation 2, but my interest kind of fell off during the PlayStation 3 days. Maybe it’s time to blow through the HD remasters to get reacquainted.

¿Alguna vez has visto un ornitorrinco? Es probablemente el animal más extraño que jamás encuentres. Es un mamífero de sangre caliente, sin embargo, pone huevos. Está cubierto con la piel, pero se divierte un pico de pato. Y sus pies palmeados también parecen má…

Gears of War remaster screenshots from footage leak

See full gallery on TechnoBuffalo The only thing Black Tusk and Microsoft have left to do on the Gears of War remaster is actually announce it. We’ve seen it hinted at, denied, and rated. Now we have some footage accidentally leaked onto the Xbox DVR site, likely by a developer who forgot to disable the automatic upload. This isn’t gameplay footage per se – the enemy is standing still in the clips while the player attacks them. It’s likely test footage for some of the gore physics or something like that. But it’s definitely footage taken in-game.The two images above were pulled from a NeoGAF thread on the leak comparing the screenshot of the new clips to one from the original Gears. Microsoft is likely scrambling to take the footage down, but currently the thread, linked to in the source for this story, has links to the videos. If you decide to click through and watch the clips, it’s important to note that they were filmed using the Xbox Game DVR and were filmed three months ago, before t…

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt launch trailer take 2 – Go Your Own Way

You can call it another lonely day. Haven’t we been here once before? CD Projekt RED believes that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is far too amazing for just one launch trailer, so it has decided to create yet another just to drive home the fact that you need to play this game. The new “Go Your Way” launch trailer features more in-engine graphics instead of impressive pre-rendered CG, and its focus this time around is not our big, bad hero Geralt but rather the Princess Ciri. Don’t be fooled by her puppy dog eyes and adorable freckles. This girl will kill you in a flash! The trailer tells her tale of how she wandered from home, and tells of how Geralt sets out to find her.The relationship between these two is not the only star of the trailer either. Geralt’s fantasy world is full of real life horrors that extend beyond mere monsters. Slaughter, torture, executions, dangerous seductions. The trailer bares all that you will find in this horrible yet beautiful place, giving you a taste of the s…
