Just last week we got a first taste of what the Moto X (2015) may offer when it launches later this year. Now a new report reveals that Motorola may already be testing the third-generation flagship phone out in public, in addition to two other phones.
According to one Reddit user going by the handle AndroidLeaks, Motorola is testing three new phones “in or around Chicago.” All three variants feature a Quad HD display, operate on Verizon and run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
We also get three new models numbers: XT1578, XT1585 and XT192A. Droid-Life points out that none of these numbers really match up with Motorola’s recent lineup, though that doesn’t mean this isn’t the real deal. It’s possible one of these is the new Moto X (2015), though we have no evidence to back that up.
It’s unclear if this leak means Motorola will sell three new devices through Verizon this year. That wouldn’t be out of the ordinary, as similar moves have been made in past years, like when the DROID RAZR HD, DROID RAZR MAXX and DROID RAZR Mini were unveiled, or if it’s testing to pick the best of the bunch.
