CharityBuzz auctioned off lunch with Apple CEO Tim Cook for the third year in a row. The auction kicked off back in April with an opening bid of $10,000, and quickly climbed to more than $35,000 by the end of the first day. It closed on Wednesday with a bid of $200,000, more than twice the estimated value of the lunch.
That’s a solid chunk of change and it’s being donated to the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice & Human Rights, an international human rights organization. This year’s total falls a bit short of earlier years, however, when the auction raised more than $600,000.
Whoever won will get to enjoy a nice meal with Cook and also gets an invite, with a friend, to a future Apple keynote as a VIP. The winner of the auction was not revealed, but whoever it is gets to find out what Tim Cook eats for lunch. Something tells me it won’t be fast food.
