The Galaxy Note 5 is likely just a few months away, but what about the Galaxy Note 5 Edge? We’re still not sure if Samsung will release a curved-screen version of its flagship phablet this year, but a new concept design commissioned by GdgtCompare has us hoping the company makes good on earlier rumors.
The imagined device looks pretty similar to the Galaxy S6 Edge, though obviously with a bigger screen. The curved edges also seem a bit more angular, and the rear camera has been tweaked slightly. For some reason Samsung’s S Pen stylus never makes an appearance, though it would almost certainly ship with the alleged Galaxy Note 5 Edge.
Still, there’s no guarantee Samsung will release an Edge variant for the Note 5 at all. Recent reports suggest the company could be working on an entirely different curved device instead under the code name “Project Zen.” The rumored handset could sport a smaller 5.5 or 5.4-inch display, a Snapdragon 808 processor and an S Pen stylus.
We probably won’t get an official look at the Galaxy Note 5 and any possible Edge alternatives until September, when the device is expected to debut. Then again, rumor has it the new phablet could arrive as soon as July, so we may not have to wait quite so long.
