Warner Bros. Interactive has a new live-action trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight, and actually, it seems a bit dangerous depending on how you look at it. A random assortment of people stumble across dire situations, and they are faced with a tough decision as to how to follow through.
A lone firefighter realizes that people are still trapped within a hopelessly burning and even exploding building. A businessman watches while thugs pick on an old man on the subway. A weakly guy looking for revenge is cornered in a back alley by his family’s murderers. An athlete is faced with an injury and extreme pain. How do they get through it?
They think about a super hero…
It’s a bit of a hard pillow swallow, I suppose. Firefighters must professionally know when a situation is hopeless, and even if they can rescue someone, they never go alone. Inflaming a situation on a subway can turn violent very quickly, even if the perpetrators are outnumbered. Wait for the police. An athlete playing through a serious injury can only make it worse, perhaps ending his career.
As for our nerdy friend, why on Earth would you ever put yourself in that situation? Call the police, explain your case, or at least run back out to the main street if you are surrounded. It’s not that far away. That first guy dodged his punch without much effort, and my guess is that it will be the only one he gets to throw.
But, it’s okay people! Batman is cool, so each and every one of these guys is going to be just fine. I don’t get it. Remember in The Dark Knight when we were specifically told NOT to behave like Batman? Because he’s “not wearing hockey pants?” This kind of goes against that message, doesn’t it?
Be the Batman, just when you’re playing a video game though, especially one that looks like it will be as awesome as this. Batman: Arkham Knight will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on June 23.
