Well, that was a fun hype train to ride, but Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is now available for the public to pick up, along with the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XV demo. The time has finally come to disembark with a launch trailer.
Only be careful with this one. Square Enix has a few spoilers you might not want to see.
Of course, we have to open with the dead Chocobo scene once again, the game’s opening cutscene by the way, because there is nothing more tragic than the death of a devolved Big Bird. Oh yeah, I always forget to mention that a man dies alongside him, probably highlighting something wrong with my psyche when I witness a human being getting killed in a video game.
That poor bird though…
From there, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD’s launch trailer is a montage of events that unfold over the course of the plot. Because of its original PSP release, the game doesn’t have that many high quality pre-rendered cutscenes to show off. This leads to some of the content that leaks its way into the sizzle reel to tiptoe along the border of spoilers. One is a death that totally caught me off guard at least.
Our review for Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is live, so be sure to check that out if you are on the fence for this spin-off title. It’s definitely a game that should be played more for its solid gameplay than its loosely connected story. The game can be picked up for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and early buyers will snag a copy of Final Fantasy XV’s demo. Expect a write-up on that in the coming day or two.
