The Moto G may not be as flashy as the Moto X or the DROID Turbo, but it’s Motorola’s secret workhorse and the reason for much of its recent success. Now, the budget-friendly handset could be due for an upgrade based on some recently leaked specs for the third-gen handset.
The device was leaked on FlipKart, a popular Indian online retailer, this week. The company managed to scrub the post pretty quickly, but not before Gadgetraid could snap a few screenshots. The new Moto G apparently comes in white (among other possible options) and packs 8GB of storage, likely with microSD support for adding extra space.
Gadgetraid claims the listing also revealed a few other specs, including a Snapdragon 610 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 5 or 5.2-inch 1080p display and 4G LTE. There’s no way to verify any of that, though it seems pretty believable. By comparison, last year’s Moto G packed just 1GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 400 and a 5-inch 720p display.
Speaking of which, Motorola didn’t unveil the Moto G (2nd Gen) until September 2014. That means it could be a few more months before the upgraded device gets an official announcement. Then again, it’s possible the company could speed up its production cycle slightly for 2015. We’ll just have to wait and see.
