The Dish-owned streaming service announced the news on Thursday. As an extra bonus you’ll be able to pick up a Nexus Player for 50 percent off when you pay for three months of Sling TV upfront, bringing the price down to $50. If you already own the Android TV device, you can try Sling TV with a free seven-day trial.
Sling TV is a pretty unique service, offering a mix of live TV channels including ESPN, AMC, TNT, TBS, Cartoon Network, CNN and more for just $20 per month. You can also pay an extra $15/month for HBO, or add interest-specific packages like Sports Extra, Hollywood Extra, Kids Extra, and a brand-new Deportes Extra for $5 a month each.
For now, the Nexus Player is the most well-known Android TV option out there, though plenty of new devices and smart television sets are expected to ship in the near future. Sling TV is still missing from Apple TV, though it’s unclear if that will ever happen. In the meantime, there are plenty of other ways to try out the live TV streaming service.
