The votes are in and tallied, and the cover athlete for Madden NFL 16 from EA Tiburon is Odell Bekham Jr., the wideout for the New York Giants.
He had a breakout season last year as a rookie, boasting 12 TDs, 91 receptions and 1,305 yards. The WR is currently tied with Michael Irvin for most consecutive games with 90+ yards receiving, and he has a chance to beat Irvin with game one of the upcoming 2015-16 season.
The final vote came down to Rob Gronkowski, TE for the Patriots, and Bekham Jr..
The trailer that revealed the cover above links to an all-new control system, telling players to “be the playmaker.” Here’s how EA describes that.
Madden NFL 16 delivers all-new controls that allow you to dominate in the battle for air supremacy. New QB mechanics including body-relative throws, plus touch and roll out passes provide you with unprecedented depth and control while under center. Combined with a new risk/reward catch and pass-defend system, get ready for the biggest WOW moments in franchise history.
We’ll have more on Madden NFL 16 as it comes. The game will sell on August 25, 2015 for the Xbox one, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Stay tuned.
