Rumor has it LG is working with Google on a new 5.2-inch Nexus smartphone. Now we may have a very shaky confirmation that the South Korean company is interested in making the new stock Android phone.
Speaking to AndroidPIT, a source at LG apparently commented on the latest rumors with a very short response. “It’s under consideration at LG,” the company said. That’s not much to go on, but it does suggest that LG has the option to build the next Nexus if it decides to.
Earlier this week a separate report suggested LG was already hard at work on the new Nexus phone. The same source also said they could confirm rumors that a larger Nexus phablet from Huawei would launch later this year, suggesting that Google will release two new smartphones in 2015.
For now, all these Nexus rumors feel a bit sketchy, so we’ll try not to get ahead of ourselves. Hopefully we’ll get some concrete news at Google’s I/O conference later this month, though it’s possible the new devices won’t be revealed until much later in the year.
