Billionaires. They’re just like us. Kind of. Us normal folk, the sort with short of a billion dollars in net worth, might have a friend stay over when they’re visiting town. Apparently Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Google CEO Larry Page have a similar relationship.
According to a new book by Ashlee Vance titled “Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceSX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future,” Musk stays at Larry Page’s house when he’s visiting the Silicon Valley. Musk, worth more than $13 billion, hasn’t rented his own apartment or purchased his own house in Silicon Valley, even though he owns an estate in Los Angeles worth around $17 million.
“He’s kind of homeless, which I think is sort of funny. He’ll e-mail and say, ‘I don’t know where to stay tonight. Can I come over,” Page explained in the book, according to Business Insider. “I haven’t given him a key or anything yet.” Thankfully it sounds like Page has more than enough space; Business Insider said the Google CEO has two homes on his property, including a six bedroom house. Maybe Musk returns the favor when Page visits Los Angeles.
Musk may be building the future through electric cars, space ships that can land themselves and new electric home initiatives, but he still loves to crash at a buddy’s pad.
