Apple Watch with modern buckle, leather loop, finally ready to ship

Still waiting for your Apple Watch? It looks like the company is finally getting ready to ship versions of the new smartwatch equipped with the Modern Buckle, Leather Loop and the 42mm Space Black stainless steel band, according to 9to5Mac.

Citing order update screenshots sent in from a handful of readers, the report adds that international versions of the Link Bracelet are also listed as “Preparing for shipment.” It’s unclear exactly why these models took longer than simpler options like the Sport Band. It may simply be more difficult to manufacture the Leather Loop and Modern Buckle in large quantities, or they were simply not ready ahead of time.

9to5Mac notes that the Apple Watch Edition will likely be the last to ship. Other delayed models should start to arrive by Thursday this week, lining up with earlier reports from Apple that these pre orders would be filled before the end of May.
